Business Leadership
As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be
those who empower others (1). - Bill Gates, Founder of Microsoft
Gates built Microsoft, an innovative industry leader that has certainly made our lives easier. He recognizes that successful businesses are the ones that provide valuable products and services--especially ones that help us achieve our goals.
Business leadership begins with a vision centered around providing useful things. Thus it doesn't matter what types of goods or service your business provides as long as it is something that can benefit many people.
The most successful business leaders are not just the ones that have a purpose but those who have strong desires. Author, teacher, and entrepreneur, Napoleon Hill understands the importance of desires as he said:
The starting point to all achievement is desire (2).
Every successful entrepreneur that we study desires to do big things and greatly enjoys doing it. Billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey is so passionate about her work that she suggests:
You know you are on the road to success if you would do your job, and not be paid for it (3).
She understands that when you love what you do, you'll give it all your time and energy. Oprah is not alone. For example, billionaire investor Warren Buffett says:
Really getting to do what you love to do everyday--that's really the ultimate luxury. And particularly when you get to do it with terrific people around you (4).
If you have unique talents or are passionate about certain things, then do what you will enjoy most as long as what you do will give something valuable in return. The more you organize your efforts and plan your actions around your desire and love for doing valuable work, you are moving closer to success. We'll give you some valuable tips to help you organize your passions and ideas into a profitable business operation.
